After graduating from high school at the age of 17, Matias Herrera managed to secure a spot in the lower tiers of CD Palestino in Chile. Within this club, he not only played in the Under 19 category but also worked his way up to the prestigious first division team. Matias professionally played for CD Palestino from 2015 to 2017, participating in various tournaments including the Chilean National Championship, Copa Chile, Copa Sudamericana, and even Copa Libertadores.
In 2018, he made a transition to Deportes Recoleta, where he played for half a season. However, in mid-June 2018, he embarked on a new journey as a student-athlete in the United States.

During his time in the U.S., Matias was a valuable member of the Butte College Men's Soccer team. Throughout the 2018-2019 seasons, he earned the distinction of being named the Golden Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Year twice. Additionally, he was recognized with two All-North and All-State selections. Following these successful seasons, Herrera transferred to San Francisco State University, where he not only excelled as a goalkeeper but also graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Administration.

After his academic journey, Matias continued his involvement with soccer by working as a Goalkeeper Coach at Inmotion Soccer Training, Pinewood High School and West Valley College. This experience ultimately led him to envision and create the project that he passionately pursues today.

In addition to his playing and coaching experience, Matias has been consistently enhancing his coaching abilities. By collaborating with different professional goalkeeper coaches, he has gained valuable insights and practical knowledge. He also earned the Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma and continues to invest in his development through constant study, including online courses. This commitment to growth and learning enables Matias to provide top-level coaching and innovative training techniques to his athletes.
